# Ownership Representation - Token System on Blockchain

In blockchain technology, the introduction of tokens allows for innovative ways to represent ownership and the transfer of assets within the same layer of the blockchain. The concept of **token-based systems** takes advantage of blockchain transactions' inherent properties—such as **transference** and **message space for notarization**—to create a layer that can represent ownership in a decentralized way.
